I am Stronger because of Kayne West

Greetings, friends!

I have to say I'm very excited as this is my first blogging attempt! My name is Angie Cottrell, and I am the Senior Preceptor for The Commons. So what does that title mean exactly? Basically, I help coordinate the first-year experience and work in partnership with faculty, staff, and students to make The Commons an amazing place to live and learn. It's a very rewarding position and I'm pumped for our grand opening in Fall 2008.

This past weekend was homecoming at Vanderbilt. One of my highlights was seeing Kanye West perform live in Memorial Gymnasium before a sold out crowd. He sang some old and some new, and went out with the song, "Stronger." I felt it was much better than the Brittney Spears version of that song . . .

Anyways, I'll be posting random comments/thoughts on here from time to time about The Commons and keeping you all up on the Commons gossip. Right now, we have 10 amazing faculty members that will be serving as Head of House and are starting to work together to plan for next fall's opening. If you have any suggestions or things you want to do/experience, feel free to respond! We're anxiously awaiting your arrival and want you to be involved in the planning process!
